‘Perseverance Selects’ - thruoutin's first remixes release since 2015's ‘Service (The Shanghai Mixes) ’ – is a continuation of a larger project involving Cameroonian singer Abbe Shushu, ongoing since 2019. A selection of dark, club-influenced tracks, ‘Perseverance Selects’ consists of two experimental gqom inspired originals with vocal accompaniment by Abbe Shushu and co-production by South African producer ANXT. Also included are remixes for the songs Bazooka (feat. Abbe Shushu) and Waka Waka (feat. ANXT & Abbe Shushu) by Teno Afrika and ANXT, respectively.

The two originals, previously included on Abbe Shushu's self-release 'Perseverance', round up humid, slightly skewed club rhythms, woven through trickling sound design. Their remixed counterparts further reconfigure the material and bring them into new territories of amapiano and afrofuturism.

‘Perseverance Selects’ - premier remix par thruoutin depuis ‘Service (The Shanghai Mixes)’ sorti en 2015 - est la continuation d’une collaboration sur un projet débuté en 2019 avec le chanteur camerounais Abbe Shushu. Une sélection de morceaux sombres destinés aux clubs, ‘Perseverance Selects’ comprend deux originaux inspirés du qgom avec l’accompagnement à la voix d’Abbe Shushu et une co-production avec le producteur Sud-Africain ANXT. On y trouve aussi deux remix des morceaux Bazooka (feat. Abbe Shushu) et Waka Waka (feat. ANXT & Abbe Shushu) par Teno Africa, et ANXT.

Les deux originaux, inclus précédemment dans l’album ‘Perseverance’ publié par Abbe Shushu plus tôt cette année, proposent des rythmes humides, légèrement saccadés, entretissés par un sound design discret. Leurs remixes retravaillent ce matériel pour les emmener dans de nouveaux territoires d’amapiano et d’afrofuturisme.
